The 2013 fishing season has begun and we have set our sights northward!
I've already decided on a name for this year's collection of photos and memories.
It came to me yesterday- Dad was reading a paragraph to me off of his iphone:"Alaska is a derivative of the Aleut word 'Alyeska'." he said... And he stopped... as if he wasn't going to finish the paragraph. So I said, "Which means???".....
I think life paused for a second.
Dad looked at the screen.
I could see that whatever it was that was written in front of him was meaningful and hit close to home for Dad. I could see the pride in his face as he looked up at me and said two words:
"Great Land".
I have to agree. What other place would let Ben hop in the co-pilot seat of the Cessna Caravan flight to Kenai?
Alaska is awesome!
